nextMedia.Hamburg presents latest incubator

Apply now for latest incubator on ideas and business models in content and technology

The private initiative nextMedia.Hamburg has presented its latest incubator in March. In future, up to five start-ups in the early stage of development will be selected for the programme every year. The aim is to give participants creative space, up to EUR 15,000 in funds, as wells as the required skills and opportunities to network.

Promoting and developing ideas

“It is important to identify talents at an early stage and to promote them at the start of team building and when they find ideas. We want to encourage them to implement their ideas long before the finished business plan is ready,” said Nina Klaß, head of nextMedia.Hamburg. Prior to the start of the incubator programme, interested parties are to be brought together in so-called matching formats to develop new ideas or find comrades-in-arms for existing ideas. Applications for the first batch of the funding programme are being accepted until May 5, 2019.

Hamburg – innovative media city

The incubator complements existing measures to promote the media sector in Hamburg. Dr. Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media, remarked: “We are promoting the development of innovative ideas and business models to meet the demands of an increasingly digitized media landscape and thus further expand Hamburg’s role as an innovative media city.”
